The Atlantis is now known affectionately as "Morph".

I like the drop bars for road riding. The bar-end shifters are great too. I may keep them when I switch back to Moustache bars after the Riv Road bike gets done. . .

Cool curves from the drivers seat!

I added a maroon B17 from Wallingford Bicycle Parts. I think the maroon color against the Atlantis frame is neat, especially along with the red cables (I'm hoping to find some maroon ones). This saddle proved to be different from the B17 Champion Special I had on the bike previously. I used a very light initial treatment of Proofide (on the top only) when I got this one and found that it broke in very quickly. You can see well-defined sit bone indentations in the photo above on the left after less than 200 miles of riding. I was worried that it might continue to soften and go too far. But it was so comfortable at that point that I couldn't bear to send it back. I had heard that racers used to punch the saddle skirt and lace the sides together to narrow the nose of the saddle and lessen the potential for saddle sores. I thought I'd give it a try because it would also prevent them from flaring and thereby stiffen it a bit. It is a HUGE success! The top of the saddle is just soft enough and it no longer sags. I did tighten the bolt just a 1/4 turn also. Very comfy!
